Brighton streets
• Brighton Council has lost its contract for street cleansing services to Spanish company FOCSA.
The FOCSA bid for the fouryear contract, which includes street sweeping and gully emptying, was £700,000 lower than the council's Direct Services Organisation.
E French-owned Sitaclean Technology has won two more UK refuse collection contracts from Blackpool Borough Council and Babergh District Council in Suffolk.
