Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

RENAULT Truck Industries' determination to increase the production and sales of its heavy coin inercial vehicles in Britain is underlined by the addition of three extra models to its UK truck range and the decision to manufacture Gtype cabs for them at Dunsrable.

Two tractive units from Renault's existing European C-range — the G230 and G2 9 0 models — will be offered from the middle of next month.

The G290 will also he available with a York-engineered rear-steer configuration similar to that of the G260 tracrive unit introduced to UK operators two years ago.

While the 171kW (227hp) G230 model is intended primarily for general haulage at 32.5 tonnes GCW, the 214kW (287hp) G290 version will appeal to a broader mix of 38 tonne operations, especially tipper and international work.

Both new G-range vehicles will eventually be built at Dunstable, in the same way as the G260.

Initial assembly of kit parts will be followed by a gradually increased supply of locally sourced components.

On the G260, Renault says the British content is currently 62 per cent, but this fluctuates according to the dictates of economic purchasing.

G-type cabs for models manufactured at Dunstable will be assembled there from January next year, rather than be imported complete.
