CLAYTON JONES of Pontypridd has deferred the introduction of minibus services in the South Wales town because 'FaIT Ely Borough Council has cut fares on routes serving the areas the minis will cover.
Jones told CM th,it the council undertaking has lowered the fares to match his proposed 20p flat fare on routes where it expected to meet competition and increased them in other areas to compensate.
Council transport manager Alex Wilson admits that the fares were lowered to match those proposed by Clayton Jones, and said that they would revert to the normal fare scale on October 27.
