Selclen exhibits shown by Gaston, Ltd. One of these is fitted with a very iovel type of body known as a "shop on *heels." This is fitted up with swiveling shelves, a storecupboard, bins, and a counter, and is a vehicle eminereily tuitable for a travelling retailer. The wheels are shod with Goodyear Giant mournatic tyres.

The other exhibit is a stripped chas sis. This has a 25 h.p. Continental mwer unit, 3 in. bore and 5 in. stroke, *ith a lour-cylindered menobloe engine of the L-headed type with the valves on

the off side. A totally-enclosed foot. proof governor, driven by a flexible shaft from the off side of the engine, is situated on the near side, and operates direct on a separate throttle at the topof the induction pipe The carburetter provided is a Stromberg, which has a flexible air pipe communicating with a muff situated on the exhaust manifold. The cooling is on the thermo-syphanic system, the radiator being of the castiron header and bottom tank type.

The gearbox is bolted up as a unit

with the engine; it provides three speeds forward and a reverse. The crutch is of the dry multiple-disc type.

From the gearbox the drive is taken through a tubular shaft, provided with two -universal joints of the fork-and-pin type, to an overhead worm-driven rear axle. The axle casing is a one-piece steel castinge which extends right up to the wheels. At its end it is squared off to form the spring seats. Both brakes are of the internabexpa.nding type, the shoes are positioned side by side and act on drums bolted to rear wheels, a practice •whieh is becoming popular.
