THERE are two exhibits an the stand of the Automobile Supply CO., Ltd, who are the agents in this country for this make of chaseis. One of these is the 25 cwt, model, and the other the 30 cwt. model, the fames being fitted 'with pneumatic cord tyass, and the latter ;with solid tyres-.

e The newer unit embodied in the San'clew vehicle is the Continental Red Seal, striking favourite with American chassis manufacturers. It) has four cylinders -with a. bore and stroke of 3 ins. by 5 ins. respectively. Thermo-se-ph-pew , water circulation is adopted, and a castiron. radiator is fitted. A particular point, of interest in this unit lies in the suspension, which is on the three-paint System, but arranged with a special cross

member which permits of the engine being removed in a comparatively short time without the need for dismounting the entire front of the vehicle, and yvithout distutebing "the dash or steering gear. Another feature of this suspension is the provision of a ball and socket joint for the rear crankcase arms. This joint, Prevents frame torsion from, breaking the arms.

Forced feed lubrication is employed for the front and rear crankshaft bearings and the timing gears, the rest-of the mechanism being lubricated by the conventional splash system.

The clutch is of the iinaltiplesiise type, the -plates of which are faced with bonded asbestos material. The, gearbox, Whieh gives three speeds forward and a reverse, is built up as a. unit with the clutch and engine, and is connected to

the worm shaft through the medium of a tubular shaft provided with two cress' pin universal joints. A one-piece housing is employed for the rear axle, and the 'W•OTIn gear is of the David Brown type with a ratio of 8 to 1. Both brakes, which are of the internal-expanding type, operate on the seas wheels.

The springs are heal-treated, nil tempered, silicoen.anganese steel, and the spring bolts are case-hardened and fitted with oil cups. The frame is of pressed channel section, 5 ins, deep, and made freen -„Ae in. material.

The wheels are of the artillery tYP'6e. and, ae we have already, said, one of the vein:des shown is shod with pneumatic tyres and the other with solids. The wheelbase of the smaller model is 10 ft., and that of this 3C/ cwt. 11 ft. 3 ins., the track in each case being 4 ft. ElL ins.
