Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Mail Van, Light Van.

STAND No. 99.

Makers: G. W. K. (1911), Ltd., CordwaIles Work% Maidenhead.

rr WO SMART little vehicles are shown

on the stand occupied by this company. Both are completely enclosed vans, one being particularly designed for the conveyance of mails. Both are, of course, on the same chassis, which has four-eylindered anonabloc engine of 66 men. bore and 100 ram. stroke, provided with detachable cylinder heads. The orank.shaft rune on ball bearings, and the drive to the camshaft and magneeo is by an enclosed chain with adjustment for wear. The cooling is on the thermo-syphonie system, and the lubrication is by troughs fed by a sub• merged plunger pump.

The change speed gear is the wellknowne.G.W.K. friction type, the power from-the friction discs being transmitted through card= shafts to internal gears in the leer wheel hubs, these gears being totally enclosed in oil-tight cases. The back axle is of the full-floating type, the main portion being of tegbular construction. This construction, is also employed for the front axle,-which has stub axles of high-tensile steel. All the wheels are of the detachable wire type, running on ball bearings. The springing, both front and rear, is by long quarter-ellipties. Both brakes are of the internal-expanding type, and operate on Ulf:wear wheel drums.

The steering is through an opicyclic gear.

An interesting point is that all the whet, including the spare, are of exactly the same.pattern, and carry brake drums, so that they are interchangeable either with each other or with the ePare. Channel-section high tensile pressed steel is employedtioe the frame side members, whilst' the cross-members are tubular.

The van body has a capacity of approximately 80 cubic feet, and the vehicle will carry a maximum load of Cwt. The body is well finished, and is complete with driver's cab with high side doors.

The overall length of the machine is 12 ft. 3 ins., andethe width 4 ft. 8 ins.
