After the ascent of a steep hill near Debra Dun.
It has been found that the van can conveniently be loaded on to ferry boats for the crossing of rivers, where no bridges exist, and it has also proved itself fully capable of running over snow, provided fresh drifts were not encountered. Its engine is of aoh.p., whilst the gearbox provides three forward speeds and a reverse, the final drive being by side chains. The Thornycroft Company now has the new order in hand : it comprises three 3oh.p. vans, with special bodies, and these are due for early shipment to the order of the Tobacco Company.
