• Transfleet Services has won a prestigious 21 million contract hire agreement wih the Burton Group to supply a new transport fleet for its Debenhams division.
Under the five-year contract Transfleet will replace the existing fleet with 33 new vehicle units — nine Leyland DAF tractor units, 10 rigid trucks and 14 box trailers. Transfleet will also maintain and repair the fleet through its network of local depots.
The new fleet will operate from the existing distribution centre in Bedford.
▪ Transfleet Services has also signed a five-year contract with Bells of Richmond to supply the company with 14 recovery vehicles worth a total of 2328,000.
Bells is under contract to the Metropolitan Police to re move illegally parked vehicles in the London Boroughs of Kensington, Chelsea and Westminster.
