HAND-DRAWN works trailers can be converted into prime movers by fitting a power unit newly produced by
A. Hirst and Son. Ltd.. Crescent Works, Meadow Lane, Dewsbury.
The unit, which has a 120 c.c. fourstroke air-cooled engine, can be supplied at £47. With a two-wheeled rear axle and a saddle for the operative. the unit becomes a tractor and sells at £55 10s. In complete platform-truck form, the price is £59 10s.
Control is by means of a lever which, when depressed, releases the brake and engages the drive. It is turned from side to side to steer. Loads of 10 cwt. can be shifted, maximum payload on th,i driving wheel not being allowed to ^N.ceed 31. cwt.
