N experimental " park-and-ride " bus 41 service will be introduced in Leeds during the next two years, announced Aid. J. Rafferty, chairman'of Leeds City transport committee, at a Press conference this week. The experiment is along the route of service No. 1, on the north side of the city, and a car park will he established in the area of North Lane, about three miles from the city centre. Here motorists will be able to transfer to a special bus service into the city, with an inclusive fee for parking the car, and the return bus journey to the city centre. Also proposed is an experimental express bus service within the city boundaries, on the Whinmoor and Seacroft route.
