Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• British Road Services drivers in Birmingham are threatening to strike from July 29 over the deadlock in their pay talks.

The call for action came at a delegate meeting in Birmingham on Sunday. It could be followed by similar threats at other BRS depots up and down the country.

Talks on the BRS pay claim broke down last week (CM July 12) after a seven-hour meeting at BRS headquarters in London. The unions rejected a new pay offer and complained because their agreed interim award of lOs a week is being withheld under Government wages policy.
