ARMSTRONG Patents have introduced a new heavy-d shock absorber for transcontinental heavy lorries. Designa the N68, the new unit will be standard fitment on the Bedf TM 4x4 military vehicle and the Guy Victory single-decker• for Africa.
The N68, the largest shock absorber in the Armstrong rani a telescopic unit of twin-tube construction, fitted witl gland-screwed seal for in-field repairs. It has a bore size of 501 (1.97in) contained in an outer casing of 79.4mm (3.12 diameter.
It ig designed to cater for maximum forces of 340k8f (750 on compression and 908kgf on rebound. Special featu include a nickel and chrome-plated rod and a guide fitted wit ptfe bush.
