AFTER MONTHS of teetering on the verge of the UK market Mack Truck Inc, the American heavy truck manufacturer, has appointed a UK distributor.
Commercial Truck Services Ltd, 157 Bradshawgate, Bolton, BL2 1BN will be handling truck sales and service and they expect to have vehicles available early in the New Year. Models to be imported include fourand six-wheel •tractive units for long haul and intercontinental work and six-wheel dump trucks covering off and on/off road use.
CTS is to set up a subsidiary company to handle UK sales of Mack trucks, the headquarters will be in Bolton with extra sales and service facilities set up at Darlington, Co Durham and Sittingbourne, Kent. The company also intends to lease or contract hire the vehicles to interested operators. For full story see p.13.
