• A new twice weekly roll-on/off and container service between the Tyne and Esbjerg (Denmark) has been inaugurated by the United Steamship Co. Ltd. of Copenhagen, (DFDS). The Tyne, service will use the Port of Tyne Authority's roll-on/off terminal at Whitehall Point. North Shields, part of which is being specially developed as a container and trailer park. At Esbjerg, DFDS has its own modern container and unit load terminal,
