MR. 0. J. RICHARDS, formerly manager of the Nottingham branch of Brown Brothers, Ltd., has been appointed district manager at Cardiff. MR. G. MARSHALL becomes manager at Nottingham and MR. A. R. DAVID SHAW, production and stores controller, will be appointed chief engineer at a salary of £1,955-£2.205 and the post of deputy manager, without formal departmental responsibility, will be advertised at a salary of £2,27042,645. MR. JOHN H. D. PEARCE, formerly sales manager of Dartmouth Auto Castings, Ltd., has been appointed sales director.

MR. J. WORRALL, manager of the Widnes depot of British Road Services, has been appointed to a similar position at St. Helens.

MR. J. A. T. HANLON, " Northern Licensing Authority, has been elected chairman of the magistrates at ivtorpeth, Northumberland.

• MR. ERIC NEWIUGGING has joinod Stanley Works (G.B.), Ltd., as sales promotion manager. He previously held a similar position with Parkinson Cowan Appliances, Ltd.

MR. A. J. JONES, secretary of the Transport Tribunal, retired on Tuesday. He is succeeded by MR. E. F. CALLOW who was previously a senior executive officer at the Ministry of Transport.

MR. ROBERT TAYLOR has been elected president of the Scottish Co-operative Wholesale Society. He was formerly general secretary of the Scottish Horse and Motormen's Association and chairman of the Scottish Trades Union Congress.

MR. R. W. STUART MITCHELL has relinquished his position as group chief engineer of Associated British Engineering, Ltd., to accept the new Chair of gas turbine technology at the Technical University of Delft, Holland. He will continue as technical adviser to the company.
