Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THERE HAVE been further changes in the structure of the Swiss commercial vehicle industry with the acquisition by Daimler-Benz of a minority holding in FBW, reports BILL GOD WIN.

Last year the German company ended lengthy talks with Saurer which subsequently announced the first stages of a programme of closer collaboration with IVECO.

The new agreement will allow FBW to retain its independence, but will give Daimler-Benz access to production facilities to provide a "bespoke" operation to meet the special needs of Swiss transport practice. This is mainly concerned with narrow chassis and wheelbase conversions.

FBW was acquired two years ago by the OerlikonBahrle industrial group which then stated its intention to continue the vehicle building activities supplying psv and lorry requirements for Swiss municipalities and public utility undertakings.
