and B.P, Ltd. last week signed a longterm contract for the bulk transport of oil by rail. The contract, under which Shell-Mex and B.P. Ltd. guarantee a minimum and increasing volume of traffic to be moved by the railways in fast block freight trains, was signed by Dr. Richard Reeching, chairman of the Railways Board, and by Mr. A. Wynn Centenary Procession

A'part of the celebrations which are being held to mark the centenary of the founding of Robert Wynn and Sons Ltd. of Newport, Mon, a procession of vehicles representing transport through the ages is being staged by the company in Newpert on Sunday, October 27.

The procession, which leaves the Albany Street depot at about 10 a.m. for a parade through the town, will include a horse-drawn vehicle, steam traction engine, veteran and modern vehicles and Wynn's latest 300-ton-capacity transporter.

I.o.T. Anniversary Luncheon

THE Minister of Aviation. The Rt. Hon.

Julian Amery, M.P.. will be the speaker at the annual anniversary luncheon of the Institute of Transport on November 5 at the Connaught Rooms, Great Queen Street, London, W.C.2.

The occasion marks the 44th anniversary of the founding of the Institute, and president of the Institute, Mr. Keith Granville. member of the Board of British Overseas Airways Corporation and chairman of B.O.A.C. Associated Companies Ltd., will be in the chair.
