that Nottingham It Transport Department should provide free transport for the public, the whole cost of the undertaking to be borne by the rates, was made by Alderman W. Halls, a member of the transport committee, at a meeting of the city council last week.
Speaking on the annual report of the undertaking, which showed a toss, he said he thought that a free-transport plan should be put into operation, as the present system was obsolete.
