Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Scarcely a week passes without the Inauguration of some new long-distance bus route in the North of England, for the most part connecting up Tyneside with some big centre anywhere between fifty and two to three-hundred miles distant. The latest projects include a Newcastle to Manchester and Liverpool service, operated by Messrs. Bunting and Taylor, and two new routes, one being from Newcastle to Ripon and the other between Carlisle,

Newcastle and Darlington, are under contemplation. The Newcastle-Ripon route is to be instituted by the Great North of England Omnibus Co., of Newcastle-on-Tyne.

Proof that these limited-stop Services are meeting with encouraging patronage is not lacking. Indeed, recent accelerations made on existing services show that there is a steadily 'growing demand for such facilities. A case in point is the Newcastle to Ion don route. During the last few days both undertakings operating on this route, Messrs. Orange Bros. and the Majestic Motors, have increased their services. The former concern is now running a daily service and the Majestic Motors is running additional trips each week. Formerly both companies provided a hi-weekly service, but this was found inadequate, for each Sunday it was necessary to run three or four vehicles to cope with the traffic.
