Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

No More Dirty Hands.

A preparation known as the Flash Antiseptic Hand Cleaner, which is being sold by Brown Brothers, Limited, of Great Eastern Street, E.C., and of Deansgate, Manchester, has remarkable cleansing properties. It will entirely remove, without trouble, the worst stains resulting from the use of acids, black grease. or any other unpleasant material, and a tin kept in the office or the mechanics' room will soon pay for itself in the saving it effects in wipers, soap, water, and towels. It sells, in cases of mo, at the rate Of 45. ed. per doz. cans.

Alarm Bell versus Hooter.

A number of those responsible for the purchase of stores for commercial motor vehicle undertakings have found by experience that considerable economy may be effected by the use of loud-toned gongs in the place of the more usual hooters. The cost of upkeep, due to the necessity of constantly renewing lost and damaged reeds and bulbs, renders the employment of motor horns an expensive method. The new gongs are effective road clearers, and are practically indestructible. An English-made bell, known as the Seabrook, is being sold in large numbers by Messrs. Seabrook Brothers, of 32-34, Featherstone Street, E.C. The price of the Seabrook nickel-plated gong is at the rate of 7s. ed. each in lots of a dozen; or 6s. ed. each in lots of a gross.

Petrol and Oil Storage Equipment.

W. H. Willcox and Co., Ltd., of 23, Southwark Street, E.C., makes a speciality of fittings for the installation of -petrol and oil storage and delivery tanks. The company carries a large stock of all sizes of its patent, wire-bound, -Armoured, oil-resisting hose, which is best used in conjunc

tion with its semi-rotary and other pumps, large numbers of which are to be found in use in every part of the world.

A Remarkable Collection of Plugs.

A representative of this journal was recently through Messrs. Brown Brothers' continually-expanding stores, and amongst other things he was struck by the extraordinary number of different makes of sparking plugs which were kept in stock. An enquiry elicited the .fact that no less than sixty different makes were handled. Another and perhaps not very well-known department at the company's ever-extending premises in Great Eastern Street, E.C., is that in which a large and varied assortment of machine tools is handled. We hope to give these more detailed attention when considerations of space permit.

For Cleaning Water Jackets.

Petrol engines running in hilly country, and round which chalky and dirty water has to be used for cooling purposes, frequently get badly choked up in their water jackets, especially on models where the passages are undesirably restricted. The troubles in this respect with steam boilers are too well known to need comment here. Arthur Ross, Hotchkiss and Company, Limited, of Glengall Road, Old Kent Road, S.E., is marketing a special preparation of its new granular compositions which are sold under the registered trade mark of " Solvos." The company claims that it is thoroughly effective in removing scale from the boilers of steam lorries, and from the jackets of internal-combustion engines. Extensive experiments on standard types of internal-combustion engines are now being conducted, and we shall hope to give some analytical results of the tests in an early issue.
