Road Services 1 is now specifying both air and vacuum trailer-brake systems on all new tractive units designed for use with 10 tons or more. The first unit to be provided with the dual system is going into service with the North Western Division. It is an Atkinson T946XA 8-ft. 9-in.-wheelbase model and is the first of three to be delivered. All will have a single-line vacuum system for trailer braking as well as the standard twin-line air-pressure system.
