The fourth general meeting for the members and associates was held in the Chapter suite of the Hotel Cecil, following the council meeting. The attendance included the following :—Messrs. H. S. Oakley Cook (Albany Manufacturing Co., Ltd.), W. F. French (Sussex Motor Road Co., Ltd.), A. Grey (General Petroleum Co., Ltd.), C. H. Hart, M. M. Hodges (late London and District Motor Omnibus Co., Ltd.), H. Hucics (The St. Helens. Cable Co., Ltd.), Leo Harris (John Marston, Ltd.), H. D. Using (Cambridge Motor Omnibus Co., Ltd.), Arthur J. Liversidge (J. T.iversidge and Son, Ltd.), Ernest J. Mitchell (The Palmer Tyre Co., Ltd.), Bernard Metz (Falconnet Peredeaud), W. 0. Oppermann (Shrewsbury and Challiner Tyre Co., Ltd.), L. R. L. Wilde (The Hughes Johnston Stampings Co., Ltd.). Mr. F. C. A. Coventry (the chairman) presided, and after a few introductory remarks, called upon Mr. E. Shrapnel] Smith (the hon. vice-president) to open the subject of " Side Slip : Its Prevention and Cure." A long and interesting discussion followed, about twenty-four members and associates taking part. It was generally felt that a careful driver could run an omnibus with safety over any greasy surface, especially if he did not apply his brakes too suddenly. The meeting terminated with a vote of thanks to the chairman.
