Shrapnel] Smith (the hon. vice-president) to open the subject of " Side Slip : Its Prevention and Cure." A long and interesting discussion followed, about twenty-four members and associates taking part. It was generally felt that a careful driver could run an omnibus with safety over any greasy surface, especially if he did not apply his brakes too suddenly. The meeting terminated with a vote of thanks to the chairman.
