Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Jam delighted that my previous correspondence has caused interest in the whole issue of transport career training (CM 20-26 November).

I would like to reply if I may, to your subsequent correspondent who appears to be representing Manpower.

In my initial letter, my aim was to highlight a national issue of grave concern—the shortage of trained, qualified drivers to service the needs of our ever-growing industry. At no time did I intend to set CDS as "Crawley's employmentreducing crusaders" and I take exception to this. We are aware other driver schools exist, but my point is to see what governmental support could be gained for addressing this shortage.

Mr Fulcher is obviously a keen advocate of Manpower but I was surprised to learn that Manpower drivers are not available to take up full-time positions with clients—you are missing an opportunity! Jeremy Taylor Marketing associate, CDS Employment, Crowley. West Sussex.
