Seats for More: One of Preston's 55-scat buses has been converted into a 73-seater. It is now 30 ft. long and 8 ft. wide. The conversion cost £2,283.

No Notices: Newport Transport Committee have decided not to display notices M buses asking children to give up their seats to standing adult passengers.

Act in Force : Section 25 of the Road Traffic Act, 1956 (charges for parking in Royal parks), comes into force on January 1 and Section 13 (cycle racing on public highways) on March 1.

Major Campaign for 1961): The Ministry of Transport, in co-operation with the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, are making arrangements for a major road-safety campaign next year.

Buses for Ghana: The Ghana ,Oovernment have decided to buy 225 new buses for municipal and Government transport services. British, West German and Italian manufacturers have shown interest.

B,m.c. to Extend : The British Motor Corporation, Ltd., have applied for authority to develop about 50 acres of land at Colton Hackett, next to the Austin factory at Lonebridge, as part of the company's £49m, expansion scheme, More MI Duplicates: More duplicate coaches are now being operated by Birch Bros., Ltd., non-stop between Bedford and London via Ml. They are picking up at North Finchley, Whetstone and New Barnet, as well as at King's Cross, Highgate Archway and East Finchley.

Tractors for Scotland : A. Scott (Contractors), Ltd., Glasgow, have ordered 20 Leyland Beaver 14.B10 tractors of 8-ft, 6-in. wheelbase. The contract is worth £55,000. Dutch operators have ordered 24 Leyland 7-tonners and 40 six-wheelers to the value

of more than £140,000. •
