LAST YEAR was the best ever for Volvo Bus (Great Britain), with sales of 364 B1OM coaches taking it to 17.7 per cent of the coach market.
Double-deck business also grew slightly, with orders won for the first time from Merseyside PTE, City of Nottingham and London Transport. A threeaxle B55 double-decker and a Citybus have gone to SouthEast Asia, the B55 for trials in Jakarta, the Citybus to Singapore.
Sales of Volvo coaches and buses in the first seven months of this year totalled 372, a 7.2 per cent increase on the same period last year.
