Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

HAULIERS in the Northamptonshire I I area will be invited to join the Northampton Export Club, which is being formed in an attempt to encourage exporters to meet in a social atmosphere and exchange ideas. An inaugural luncheon meeting will be held in the Angel Hotel, Bridge Street, Northampton, on October 12 and periodical meetings are envisaged for the future. Membership is open to all persons in whatever branch of the export and allied trades, including haulage, they are engaged.

The instigator. Mr. R. A. King, of British Timken, told The Commercial Motor: " The idea of the Club was conceived by me and mentioned casually to a small party of exporters who were lunching as guests of a shipping line. The idea seemed to meet with approval and I then wrote privately to the president of the Chamber of Commerce to seek the support and publicity which he could give it.

"And there the matter stands for the moment. We hope to get good support on October 12, when we expect to have plans for at least the next two meetings.

"For some time it has been felt that there is a lack of opportunity for persons engaged in export to meet." •
