Senior traffic commissioner (TC) Beverley Bell has published revised statutory guidance documents, following consultation with the industry. The documents, which cover key aspects of regulatory work undertaken by TCs, provide detailed advice on how the

0-licensing system functions. Revisions take into account changes in anticipation of Driver CPC requirements. They also look to give a better explanation of the effect of insolvency and voluntary arrangements.

Sentencing guidelines for serious driving offences such as death by dangerous driving are being reviewed following concerns that prison terms are too lenient. A consultation from HMRC on guidance notes for landfill tax changes is drawing to a dose. The deadline for submissions is 20 October. The proposed changes are due to come into force from 11 November.
