C-HIRING DISCS BEING MISUSED

T"Scottish Licensing Authority is concerned at the loose manner in which C hiring discs are being used and at the failure of holders of C hiring licences to ensure that the discs are kept in proper custody. Last week, Mr. A. Robertson, Scottish Deputy Licensing Authority, had Albert Middleton, of Garthdee, brought before him for admonition for having misused a disc.

This was attached to a spare vehicle for which no licence was held. Mr. Middleton hired the vehicle without a driver to Scottish Agricultural industries, Ltd., under a C hiring allowance, and the disc was left in position after the company had-finished with-the-lorry. Atthe time of. the alleged offence, the disc was covered with a piece of wood. Mr. Robertson said he had some doubt whether Mr. Middleton was a

proper person to hold such a licence.
