Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• In Leeds on Wednesday Ellen Smith Tours Ltd., Rochdale, applied to the Yorkshire Traffic Commissioners to renew excursion and tours licences from Hebden Bridge and Todmorden and to add six additional days excursions for each departure point. Also sought were extensions to period excursions to five destinations during the local summer fortnight and September holiday week. There were five objectors.

Agreement was reached with the objectors that, regarding the summer holiday excursions to Blackpool, Bridlington, Scarborough and Torquay there will be two vehicles operated collectively from the two departure points. Regarding Morecombe the allowance will be two from Hebden Bridge and five from Todmorden. All outward journeys must be made on the first Friday or first Saturday of the fort

night, returning after one or two weeks only. Coaches to Torquay, however, can only depart on the first Friday night.

In respect to the September holiday the vehicle allowance for the week-long excursion to Blackpool will be two collectively on the two licences and for Morecambe it will be five vehicles from Todmorden and one from Hebden Bridge. There will be no increase in duration, these remaining as long weekend tours.

Fares increases were sought to bring them into line with those by the objectors.

Mrs. M. Smith, secretary of Smith, said the additional day excursions would provide new and more interesting destinations for its customers.

The Commissioners renewed the licence as amended.
