AT THE meeting of the Lorry Driver of the Year executive committee in Coventry on Tuesday, Mr. Alan 1-lavard, editor of COMMERCIAL MOTOR, resigned as national honorary organizing secretary of the competition due to his appointment (see page 57) as assistant director of freight planning, Transport Holding Company.
The committee unanimously appointed Mr. J. P. Sherriff of COMMERCIAL MOTOR as the new organizing secretary. Mr. Sherriff, a former transport manager of Dunfermline Corporation, was one of the founders of the Dunfermline eliminating centre and has had much experience In organizing eliminating centres in Scotland and in assisting with the organization of the National Finals at Bramcote.
