Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

MEANWHILE the bids by a large number of East and West Midland hauliers, mostly tipper operators, seeking to carry tippable materials, England and Wales, as directed by A. Fletcher and Co. Ltd., will proceed at Nottingham on June 23 and several days following.

This case is of a much larger order than the celebrated Mid-Southern bid because a large number of new vehicles would be employed if it succeeds. Mr. Else. the West Midland LA, was right to describe it as an "Alice in Wonderland" application. and I shall be surprised if it succeeds. Altogether, when the 30-odd tipper groups of the country meet, as I understand they intend to do, in the autumn, they will have a lot of licensing case material to chew over.

Perhaps they will invite the Western LA to address them, for his probing of the rates and mechanical safety aspects of quarry haulage may be of incalculable benefit to the industry.
