petroleum distributing companies to raise retail prices of petrol and derv, a number of brands on sale at petrol stations were increased Isâ– a gallon last week. Companies concerned were Shell-Mex and B.P. Ltd., National Benzoic Co. Ltd., Total Oil Products (G.B.) Ltd.. and Petrofina (G.B.) Ltd. The increases have been made so that dealers' profit margins can be improved. However, some suppliers, such as Esso Petroleum Co. Ltd. and Regent Oil (o. Ltd., have not recommended any retail increase but have left it to the dealers to decide themselves. Prices of European Petroleum Distributors Ltd. products remain unchanged.
