Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

11Q EMINDERS have been issued to IN local authorities by the Association of Municipal Corporations that the new Transport Act has amended their position with regard to representations about passenger charges.

Section 20 (5) of the Act provides that local authorities which, by virtue of the 1947 Act, have a locus standi in respect of fares, will now include noncounty boroughs, Metropolitan borough councils and urban districts having a population of not fewer than 50,000.

This follows pressure applied by the Association for a widening of the definition of " local authority," so that more municipalities could make representations in connection with the draft schemes of the British Transport Commission.
