DOZENS OF owner-drivers working for Midland Quarry Products in Rowley Regis, West Midlands had their vehicles vandalised last week when 26 trucks parked up at Edwin Richards Quarry on the night 01100 1 January were damaged.

Kelvin James, who runs a Volvo FM, says the cabs were smashed up and adds: Any optional extras such as Kelsa lightbars were ripped from the vehicles and on the Scanias they took the whole grille as well." Midland Quarry Products' parent, Hanson, says: "We can lock the gates but the site cannot be totally secured."
