A TACHOGRAPH fiddler who filled in charts for a fictitious driver could go to jail after having been sent to the Crown Court for sentencing.
When Kenneth Bradshaw of Hertford. Huntingdon, appeared before the Harlow Magistrates, he pleaded guilty to nine offences of making false tachograph charts. Anthony Ostrin, prosecuting for Vosa, said Bradshaw was employed as a driver with Grays Inn-based Walker Transport Services. Traffic exam iner Claire Hall said she had analysed tachograpl records in the name of both Bradshaw and Joe Pagt but enquiries indicated that Joe Page did not work fo Walker Transport Services. "lhe inference was tha such a person did not exist.
The traffic examiner interviewed Bradshaw, wh( stated that those tachograph charts in his name wen a true record of his duty whereas those in the name o Joe Page were indeed false. Bradshaw admitted tha all nine charts had been written by him.
Hall established that the creation of the false chart in the name of a driver who did not exist was al attempt by Bradshaw to eat into his rest period.
Speaking for Bradshaw, Roland Pelly said tha during the interview, Bradshaw had given the traffi examiner valuable intelligence and had demonstra ted genuine remorse.
