Swanley, Kent-based Wallis ulage is blaming the driver ortage for its closure. After years in business it simply nnot recruit enough staff to rvice its main contract.
On 18 January the family m employed five drivers; it eded nine more to service its principal contract, distributing plastic bottles.
A major advertising campaign in local papers and the London press failed to attract enough drivers so the company's shareholders decided that the only option was to pull out of haulage completely.
