Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

PAA SUGGESTION that W. Alexander and Sons, Ltd., should be prohibited from using 8-ft.-wide buses on their Killin-Perth service was rejected by the Scottish Traffic Commissioners on Tuesday. Perth County Council, who wanted the ban, quoted the narrow stretch of road between Lochearnhead and St. Fillans.

For Alexander's, Mr. R. C. B. Currie said they already had a stage-carriage service from Lochearnhead to St. Fillans, Comrie and Crieff, and there was no limitation on the size of vehicles. Alexander's and many other operators also used the road for tours with no restriction. The answer to the problem was to widen the road.

Mr. Alex Robertson, chairman, agreed with the county council that it was a tortuous stretch of road, but pointed out that the remedy was in their own hands. They could get an Order limiting the road to vehicles 7 ft. 6 in. wide.
