A Full Detailed Forecast of the Goods and Passenger-carrying Vehicles, Tractors, Rollers and Other Appliances which will be Displayed at the Exhibition Opening on March 14th

IN connection with any such event as the British Empire Trade Exhibition, of Buenos Aires, The Commercial Motor has a definite duty to perform towards its readers. This journal, the net circulation of which in any one month is many thousands of copies more than the combined circulations of all other British journals in the commercial-motor field, must give its readers, all over the world, a definite statement and a true picture of what the vehicle and chassis manufacturers will display at an exhibition of such importance as this, and this statement must be in readers' hands in good time.

In the present instance this rather difficult task has been rendered possible by our close association with British manufacturers and by a careful watch which has been kept upon the preparations that each of them has been making to place a representative selection of its products before the Argentine public. In the following pages we publish a full account of each manufacturer's intentions as regards the Buenos Aires Exhibition.

It may be necessary between now and the opening of the exhibition for slight alterations to be made, particularly in such respects as bodywork. Some bodies are being built in South America. One or two complete exhibits may be changed at the last minute. But our guide can be relied upon for accuracy in all important details, and the summary of the machines which we give in tabular form will enable visitors, using the English or Spanish copy of this forecast, quickly to find the exhibits which interest them, and at once to be aware of their principal dimensions, engine details, tyre sizes, etc. For further particulars, not only of the exhibits but also of the individual makers' activities in Great Britain and elsewhere, their marketing arrangements for Argentina, local agents' names and addresses, etc., visitors may then refer to the relative sections of the guide itself, the makes appearing alphabetically under the names by which they are familiarly known.

There will be something like 70 British commercial motors to engage the attention of our Argentine readers and others who visit the show, the goodscarrying types being available for loads from 5 cwt. to about 12 tons, whilst both single-deck and double-deck types of passenger chassis are to be seen. Agricultural and industrial tractors, rollers and other municipal appliances, trailers, electric and motor trucks, etc., are all represented.

-We are more than glad that the rigid-frame sixwheeler with four-wheel driving bogie is to be available in such a variety of sizes, for this class of chassis has proved itself highly successful in the service of the British Army and in commercial and military use in all parts of the world. For the soft earth roads of Argentina, especially during the rainy season, it is invaluable, as has been proved already, an economical yet serviceable outfit being formed when it is used in conjunction with one of the modern British pneumatictyred trailers. Another interesting type is the fourwheeled chassis having two-wheel drive for its high range and four-wheel drive for its low range of speeds.

Amongst the points that should be looked for and appreciated in the British commercial-motor chassis-no matter its type—is, first, the ample size of all bearings, drive shafts, andother vital parts, rcrbustness being obtained and Jong life ensured without excessive weight. Long life means reduced depreciation costs. Secondly should be noted the straightforward British designs, which, whilst incorporating every proven feature to better performance, permit of quick accessibility, easy dismantling and assembly. This means efficiency with reduced maintenance costs. Thirdly, one cannot but admire the quality . of British workmanship and finish, this resulting in smooth, silent running, high %weds, reduced vibration (even after prolonged and arduous work) and fuel economy, factors that give permanent satisfaction.

THIS company is an association of several of the largest British manufacturers of steam tractors, steam lorries, heavy farm machinery, boilers, steam and oil engines for stationary plants, steam and oil-driven road rollers, etc. Some of its members, such as Blackstone .and Co., Ltd., of Stamford, have carried out considerable experimental Work in connection with lighter types of compression-ig,uition oil engines for road vehicles. The exhibit in Pavilion No. 4 is a large and .comprehensivo one, including examples of the A.G.E. four-cylin, tiered. oil-engined. agricultural tractor, with engines made by Aveling and Porter, Ltd., Rochester, and Blackstone and Co., Ltd. Both engines have 'attained considerable success in trials in England, and are of the cold-starting variety, the

Aveliag engine employing an electric starter and the Blackstone a small petrol-driven starting motor.

Two oil-engined road rollers will be die

played, one an Aveling and Porter 6-tanner and the other a 10-tonner, made by Barford mid Perkins, Ltd., Peterborough. The 6-tanner represents ,a range of models weighing from 3 tons to 17 tons and employs a single-cylindered Blackstone engine. •The 10-tanner represents the new SD series, made in sizes from tl• tons to 16 tons and has a multi-cylindered engine. Both types have proved their merits in Britain.

In the steam-roller class there will be a fine example of 141-ton roller by Aveling and Porter, Ltd., whilst the tandem class of motor roller will be represented by two Berford and Perkins models, an 8-tanner and a 21-tanner. Another light motor-driven road roller will be the Buford and Perkins three-wheeled 4-tanner with four-cylindered engine.

The Associated Equipment Co., Ltd.,

XCELLENT progress has been made, in the past few 111.1 years, in the sale of the Ado vehicles in South America, where they have achieved a considerable fame. It is claimed that the distributing company, which has extensive resources, has disposed of nearly 600 Ado chassis.

The Ado vehicles are of straightforward design, yet they embody every important new feature that has been proved by experience to be of value without adversely affecting acces

sibility or ease of maintenance. They have an excellent name for both efficiency and reliability. Practically all of London's buses, approximately 5,000, are of this make.

A fine selection of the Ado machines is to be displayed on the stand of Agar, Cross and Co., Ltd., to represent the wide range of vehicles of this make. The 3/-ton and 6-ton goods models and the Ranger passenger model will be on view.

In addition, an extremely interesting 4-tanner with a separate low range of gears, providing drive on all four wheels, is sure to attract close attention. In the dry weather, when road surfaces are good, the high range of gears, giving' drive on the back wheels only, allows a good speed; .whilst in difficult road conditions the low range of gears, with drive on all wheels, will be found invaluable. The four-cylindered engine is of the type fitted in the 31-tanner and develops 05 b.h.p. The 6-tonner and the passenger model eXhibited will be seen both to have the six-cylindered 110 b.h.p: engine.

An interesting feature on this stand will comprise examples of Ado six-cylindered petrol and oil engines, enabling visitors to examine closely their construction. The oil engine, which has made its appearance as a commercial proposition in the past few months incorporates the Acro type of Combustion system and Bosch fuel pump. It gives nearly twice as many miles per gallon af fuel as the ,petrol engine of similar size and power, mid it employs a far cheaper fuel. HE name of Austin is known throughout world in

the w nconnection with well-built and economical private motor cars, but Austin re n chassis a also used for various commercial

purposes, the larger ones being quite popular in England for ambulances and even for delivery vans.

An example of the 7 h.p. van will be available for inspection in Pavilion No. 14. It carries a useful load of 5 cwt. and probably its most remarkable feature is reliability.

Commer Cars, Ltd.,

T" group formed by the Humber, Hillman and Commer companies markets, through Routes, Ltd., London, a company which it has appointed world exporters for its vehicles, Humber and Hillman motorcars and Commer commercial vehicles. Commer vehicles have been popular in England for many years, and the latest models incorporate engines and other components of highly refined design, a notable feature being the incorporation of a special type of gearbox which provides a silent third speed, as well as the ordinary silent direct drive, on the Invader and G2 models.

The Commer range will be represented at the exhibition by two goods models, a 2i-tormer and a 6-7-tanner, and two passenger models, one for 20 seats and the other for 32 seats. The smaller goods and passenger machines have 65 b.h.p. engines, the two larger machines having 110 b.h.p. engines. Both types of engine have six cylinders. The resident representative of Rootes, Ltd., Mr. R. W. H. Cook, has with him a service engineer from England. and Mr. R. C. Rootes will personally attend the exhibition.

Dennis Brothers, Ltd.,

Argentine Representative : Hampton, Watson and Co., 12613, Perez Galdos, 142, Buenos Aires.

THEconcern of Dennis Brothers, Ltd., is in the first rank of British manufacturers of heavy commercial chassis, and it makes a range of models for loads from 30 cwt. upwards. Two passenger models and two goods models have been. selected to represent the extensive series at this exhibition. The 2-tonner has a four-cylindered 42 b.h.p. engine and a wheelbase of 12 ft., allowing a considerable space for payload. The company's rigid-frame six-wheeled goods chassis for 7-ton loads constitutes a very impressive exhibit. This has a four-cylindered petrol engine developing' 70 b.h.p., and is equipped with 40-in. by 8-in. tyres on all wheels. The range of Dennis passenger models will be represented by two machines, in both of which the driver sits behind the engine. Both these and the types in which the driver is placed at the side of the engine are very popular in Great Britain. Of the two models displayed the FS-type for 30-passenger bodies has a four-cylindered engine de eeloping 85 b.h.p., and is suitable for city bus services. The Arrow chassis for 28-30-seater bodies has a six-cylindered 100 b.h.p. engine and a longer wheelbase, and is more suitablefor longdistance journeys between towns, where the road surfaces are fairly good.

THIS company has develop a large developed a world-wide business as the result of great pains taken in producing trailers suitable for all classes of duty. The company's Empire-type trailer has a turntable incorporating a king pin which is spring-loaded. This gives easy riding over rough ground and serves to prevent any distortion to the trailer frame. It will be noted from the 5-tonuer a n d 8-tonner which are being exhibited that a special type of spring shackle is used. These trailers are suitable for haulage by lorries or by tractors, and low-pressure tyres are fitted. The outfits are known to be sound propositions. A 2-ton single-axle trailer, with one pair of pneumatic-tyred wheels, will also be on view. This has a wheel track of 5 ft. 14 ins., which is approximately 1 ft. less than that

of thefour-wheelers to be seen beside it at the exhibition. Mr. Vivian Bell, a senior partner of Shepherd, Bell y Cia, is the company's resident representative.

Fodens, Ltd.,

TN Fodens, Ltd, we have an old-established engineering 1concern, famous for steam-driven vehicles; it has done much in the past year or two to produce up-to-date types having pneumatic tyres and capable of refined performance. Two examples of these—a four-wheeler and a six-wheeler---will be shown, one for 6-ton and the other for 12-ton loads. In addition, the Sun steam tractor, for hauling loads of from 10 tons to 12 tons, will be available for examination. Each of these machines has a two-cylindered engine of 5 ins: bore -and 7 ins. stroke. The tractor is suitable for ploughing as

• well as for hauling trailers, and it is readily adaptable for threshing, baling, log-sawing, stone crushing and similar work.

Ford Motor Co.,

TN addition to the big works at Manchester, 1.England, the Ford company has a tremendous works at Cork, in Ireland, which is mainly engaged in the production of Fordson tractors. Incidentally, another huge Ford factory is being erected in England, this being at Dagenham, not far from London.

The Argentine distribution branch is displaying at this exhibition five Fordson tractors, two being of the industrial and three of the agricultural type. A plot of ground has also been taken so that visitors will be able, in Buenos Aires, to see the agricultural tractors at work with ploughs and other equipment. The straightforward design of the Poulson is appreciated the world over.

John Fowler and Co. (Leeds), Ltd.,

Argentine Representative: Not appointed up to the time of going to press.

ANOTHER well-known company in connection with roadmaking machinery is John Fowler and Co. (Leeds), Ltd., which has decided to exhibit an oikengined road roller, weighing 8 tons. This has a • two-cylindered engine developing 30 b.h.p., and is of the three-wheeled type, the rolls being

of large diameter and having a wide overlap. The engine is of the kind in which the fuel is injected in an atomized condition. The roller has quick-reverse gear, operated by two simple toggle clutches, which are carried outside the frame. Power steerage is arranged on the steering column.

Greenwood and Batley, Ltd.,

Argentine, Representative: Percy Grant and Co., Ltd., Edificio Britanico, Reconquista 314, Buenos Aires.

IN addition to on-mill machinery, this company manufactures useful industrial trucks with electric drive. These are of the type which carries its own battery, and two models are going to the exhibition, one being for 30-cwt. and the other for 2-ton loads. A 30-cwt. truck is to be used by the exhibition management and may probably be seen in service in the grounds. The elevating type of Greenbat 2-ton truck, seen on the stand, will raise a load of 2 tons

in 5 secs., and runs 15 miles to 20 miles on one battery charge. One of the 2-tonner driving axles is to be available for examination.

Leyland Motors, Ltd.,

Leyland, Argentine Representative: Lancashire. A. G. Pruden and Co., 333, Calle Peru, 335, Buenos Aires.

THIS is one of the most important manufacturers of heavy commercial vehicles in the world and one that produces vehicles of high quality and refined performance. Numerous models are made for goods loads up to 12 tons, and for single-deck and double-deck passenger vehicles carrying up to 51 seated people. The company has selected a 6-ton fourwheeler and a 12-ton six-wheeler to represent its goodscarrying class, both of which have six-cylindered engines and 38-in. by 8-in, pneumatic tyres, twin tyres being fitted to the rear wheels. The larger machine, having ten large pneumatic tyres and driving through eight of these, will be an interesting proposition for up-country transport. It will be shown with a steel-lined tipping body and the frame overhang shortened by 2 ft. 10 ins, for tipping purposes ; in this form it is intended for loads of 10 tons.

The Lioness is a six-cylindered model, intended for 26-seater town-bus or long-distance-coach bodies. The chassis is arranged with the driver's position behind the engine, although; of course, other models with the driver at the side of the engine are made by this company.

An interesting item in this company's exhibit will be a partly sectioned six-cylindered petrol engine, of 4 ins. bore and 5i ins. stroke. This engine is representative of the complete range of Leyland power units of different sizes. High efficiency in these units is combined with accessibility of the component parts, the result being that maintenance costs are comparatively low.

KNOWN as a maker of petrol and oil engines for electric lighting plants, pumps and other machinery, this concern also produces a range of useful industrial trucks, as well as one or two models that are suitable for municipal work, such as street-sweeping and sprinkling. These have single-cylindered petrol engines. Two 1-ton trucks and one street-sweeper and sprinkler will be shown by Evans, Thornton and Co. Lister trucks are successful in Great Britain and elsewhere, and are used to a large extent for work at railway stations.

Clayton and Shuttleworth, Ltd., London, S.W.1. Argentine Representative: J. and J. Drysdale and Co., 440, Calle Peru, 450, Buenos Aires. T'SE two associated concerns are both represented in the Argentine by Messrs. J. and J. Drysdale and Co., which company will be showing a light Marshall Manumit motor roller, weighing 12 cwt., and a Clayton and Shuttleworth oil-engined 30 h.p. agricultural type of tractor. The Manumit roller is of the kind in which the petrol power unit and transmission gear are located inside the roll, the roller

being reversed simply by swinging over the handle. Only one man is required to operate it. The oil-engined tractor has a single-cylinder of bore no less than 8 ins., the stroke being 10i ins. This is an extremely straightforward type of machine and one that is well suited to the hard work likely to be demanded of it in the Argentine.

Merryweather and Sons, Ltd.,

rilHAT i old-establhed concern of fire-fighting engineers, Merryweather and Sons, Ltd., has been entrusted with the fire-protection arrangements for the British Empire Trade Exhibition. The company will show a selection of firefighting appliances, the most prominent of which will be the Merryweather Hatfield motor fire-engine, having a fourcylindered power unit of 40 h.p. and a patent fire pump with two-speed gear, enabling it to deliver 390 gallons per minute at a pressure of 98 lb. per sq. in., or 210 gallons at 165 lb. per sq. in. At the exhibition fire station will also be seen a Hatfield trailer fire pump, capable of delivering 165 gallons per minute.

Commercial Cars, Ltd.,

A WORLD-FAMOUS manufacturer of commercial chassis, _el Morris Commercial Cars, Ltd., has in the past year or two turned its attention to the production of heavy as well as light types of machine. Sir William R. Morris, Bt., the

B34 governing director, has taken a special interest in overseas markets, particularly the Argentine, and a company has been formed in Buenos Aires to look after sales and service. The service station is equipped to deal with the actual assembly of chassis components received from England, and all bodywork is designed in Buenos Aires under the supervision of a representative from the English works. This company claims to be the largest manufacturer of six-wheeled commercial vehicles in the world.

A large collection of Morris-Commercial models is to be on view, including 30-cwt. and 3-ton four-wheelers, the 2i-ton rigid-frame six-wheeler, a 2-ton six-wheeled winch-gear chassis, an ambulance, a fire-engine and two of the new Dictator chassis, one with the driver beside the engine and the other with the driver behind the engine. The six-wheeler is particularly efficient for work on soft and difficult ground, for which it has acquired a world-wide reputation, and the Dictator chassis is notable for the fact that the power-unit assembly can be detached and wheeled out of the frame, the front springs, axle and wheels being attached to it. The RD-type six-wheeler is constructed for bulky rather than heavy loads.

Ransomes, Sims and defferies, Ltd.,

CO the stand of Agar, Cross and Co., Ltd., this company will show an, electric truck, having a 2i. h.p. serieswound motor and being capable of carrying 2-ton loads.

There will also be a selection of the company's motor mowers in 16-in., 20-in., 24-in. and 80-in, widths, and it should be noted that the company's agent for its lawn mowers is Tomas Drysdale and Co., Moreno, 458, Buenos Aires.

Incidentally, it may be mentioned that the company has quite a name in England for the manufacture of trolleybuses,

MHIS engineering concern is associated with Ransomes, Sims and Jefferies, Ltd., Ipswich, another company that is exhibiting at the Buenos Aires Exhibition. Its agent,

Agar, Cross land Co., Ltd., will be displaying a Ruston 10-ton road roller, having a single-cylindered oil engine of 81 ins, bore and 13 ins. stroke. This develops 20 b.h.p. The cylinder is placed longitudinally in the frame and airless fuel injection is employed. It is a cold-starting engine and, although compressed air is normally used for starting purposes, the initial start, and any subsequent start, in the case of air pressure being accidentally lost, can be made by hand.

Seammell Lorries, Ltd.,

Watford. Argentine Representative: Camiones ,Scammell, Reconquista, 165, Buenos Aires.

CONSIDERABLE business has been done by this coml./puny. in South America, and Mr. J. Victor Casteran, who is in control of the Argentine concern, Camiones Scarnmell, has on his staff representatives from the Scammell works. The company manufactures goods-carrying vehicles for heavy loads, having actually produced for service in England many articulated machines for loads of 25 tons, 40 tons and even 100 tons.

A Seammell model that is particularly successful in the Argentine and other countries in which difficult conditions prevail is the Pioneer rigid-frame six-wheeler for crosscountry work. Visitors to the exhibition should carefully study the most interesting arrangement of the four-wheel driving bogie of this chassis, which, in conjunction with the special front suspension, permits excellent articulation of the axles. No doubt this model, of the three that are being displayed, will be the one that will attract most attention. It is particularly well suited for the conditions prevailing in the Pampas. Some impression of its capabilities is given by a picture on this page.

A four-wheeled 6-ton lorry will also be on, view.. Both this and the six-wheeler, as well as all other Scaramell models, are equipped with four-cylindered overhead-valve engines developing 80 b.h.p. Additionally, there will be a fourwheeled pneumatic-tyred trailer for 5-ton loads—a very sturdily built vehicle, haying, in place of the familiar turntable, a steering gear of the Ackermann type, such as is used for the front ;heels of most motor vehicles.

Simonis, Ltd., Argentine Representative : William H. Firth y Cia., Calle Peru, 359, Buenos Aires.

AT Pavilion No. 12 visitors will be able• to examine a Simonis trailer lire pump with two-cylindered engine, capable of delivering 100-125 gallons of water per minute, this company of fire-fighting engineers having been appointed to protect that pavilion against fire. Trailer pumps of this kind are valuable for up-country e,starteias, being comparatively inexpensive, easy to handle and highly effective.

Singer and Co., Ltd., Argentine Representative : M. H. Flash, Esq., Anglo-South American Bank, Ltd., Calle Reconquista, 46, Buenos Aires.

THESinger company has made quite a name for itself in England in connection with its private cars, as well as its light goods-carrying vehicles, the capacities of which range from 5 cwt. to 2 tons. At this exhibition the commer

cied side of the company's activities will be represented by a 5-cyst. Singer Junior delivery van. This is an inexpensive and economical little vehicle, having a four-cylindered engine of cubic capacity 848 c.c., and it is extremely useful for town delivery purposes. The value of small vehicles of this kind, first appreciated to the full in Great Britain, is now being realized by traders in many other countries. Mr. W. E. Hilton, export manager of the Singer company, will be in Buenos Aires, and letters for him should be sent to the Savoy Hotel in that city.

John I. Thornycroft and Co., Ltd.,

Basingstoke. Argentine Representative : Thornycroft (Argentina), Ltda., S.A., Comercial e Industrial, Calle Defense, 683, Buenos Aires.

MHE house of Thornycroft stands in the very first rank of British manufacturers of commercial vehicles, and it is in quite a pre-eminent position in respect of its overseas trade, which constitutes a big percentage of its total business. The company makes splendid vehicles and has in its range six-wheelers of the rigid-frame type capable of traversing difficult ground. A separate concern having been formed to handle the South American business, purchasers are ensured excellent service for their vehicles. To represent at this exhibition the extensive series of Thornycroft multi-wheelers the company has selected no fewer than four rigid-frame six-wheeled chassis. Three of these are for the transport of goods, being suitable for loads of respectively 3i. tons, 5 tons and 12 tons, and the fourth is particularlydesigned for 40-seater passenger bodies. Additionally, there will be two four-wheeled goods models on show, one for 2-ton and the other for 6-ton loads. The engine of the 12-tonner has been specially designed to give B35 good pulling power at medium and low speeds. This 12tonner has, in addition to its four-speed gearbox, an auxiliary two-speed box giving other gear ranges. The A5 six-wheeler for 3i-ton loads is another machine having an auxiliary gearbox.

Vauxhall Motors, Ltd., Luton. Argentine Representative:

THEVauxhall works at Luton, which, since 1903, has produced the famous Vauxhall car, was purchased sone time ago by General Motors, Ltd., and for more than a year all the Chevrolet 30-cwt. and 12-cwt. commercial chassis for the British market have been built there, the Chevrolet in Great :Britain thus becoming an entirely British product.

From the same works a special effort is now to be made to secure export trade on a large scale. A range of chassis has become available in the past few weeks, including, in addition to Vauxhall private motorcars, 10-cwt., 30-cwt. and 2-ton models, the 2-tonner being made in two wheelbase lengths. These commercial chassis 'will be sold in all export markets under the name Bedford, and practically the first market to see one of the new Bedfords is Argentina.

All the Bedford models incorporate a new type of sixcylindered overhead-valve engine having a bore of 3-pc ins. and a stroke of 31 ins. It has a four-bearing crankshaft, high-pressure lubrication system and Lucas six-volt lighting and starting equipment. The 2-tonner exhibited has a wheelbase of 13 ft. 1 in., the shorter model measuring 10 ft. 11 ins. The rear axle is of the fully floating kind.

IN the Vulcan concern we have a company which makes a wide and interesting range of both goods and passengercarrying vehicles, embodying four-cylimlered and six-cylindared engines and including examples of the successful rigidframe six-wheeled type so popular in countries like Argentina. , Three models are to be shown at the exhibition. One of these is a six-cylindered 83 b.h.p. passenger model with a capacity of 32 seated passengers. For goods transport the company is exhibiting its 5-ton rigid-frame six-wheeler with

75 b.h.p. four-cylindered power unit.' ' •

An interesting vehicle for municipal purposes is the 35-40-cwt. refuse collector, representative of a kind of vehicle which is seen a great ,deal in English towns. In B36 addition to being speedy and reliable' it has the advantage that the refuse container has not to. be lifted very high before it can be tipped into the vehicle.

Components and Accessories.

The exhibits of components and accessories will claim attention. Oil „ engines are displayed by Norris Henty and Gardners, Ltd., of Patricroft, Manchester. The exhibits of this company are mainly marine and stationary types, but the Gardner L-type oil engine is suitable for road vehicles and in Britain some 60 of these engines are already employed in road service; hand-starting is possible with the Gardner engine. The local agents are Messrs. J. Banham and Sons, Calle Peru, 362, Buenos Aires.

Tilt Daimler Co., Ltd., will be exhibiting its famous motorcars. This company makes high-class commercial chassis, suitable for passenger vehicles, and has recently introduced in both its private and its commercial machines, an unorthodox kind of hydraulic clutch, which, in conjunction with fr special self-changing epicyclic gearbox, gives silent and foolproof gear-changing. This transmission will be on view hi a private-car chassis.

On the electrical side the name of Joseph Lucas, Ltd., of Birmingham, will suffice to attract attention to its many items of equipment for vehicles, most of the vehicle exhibits having lighting and starting gear of Lucas or its associated C.A.V. makes. S. Smith and Sons (M.A.), Ltd., of London, is showing‘hydraulic jacks, etc., and K.L.G.-sparking plugs, and the magnetos, etc., of Simms Motor Units, Ltd., London, will be seen. 'The. Tungstone Accumulator Go., Ltd.,. and Pritchett and Gold and E.P.S. Co:, Ltd., both of London, will exhibit storage batteries, and Lodge Plugs, Ltd., Rugby, will display plugs. The carburetters, etc., of Amalgamated Carburetters, Ltd., Birmingham, must not be missed.

Several parts of engines, etc., are to be separately shown. The Coventry Chain Co. Ltd. Coventry, will display all kinds of chains. The'Ransome and Merles Bearing Co., Ltd., Newark, will have a group of its bearings. The world-famous tyres of the Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd., will be on view, On the stand of the Eagle Engineering Co., Ltd.,1will be seen working examples of the Neate trailer brake, including the latest type with a simple form of graduated release.

Evans, Thornton and Co. will show hydraulic jacks made by Tangyes, Ltd., Birmingham, also a selection of the oils of C. C. Wakefield and Co., Ltd., London. The tyre pumps, tyre testers, etc., of William 'Turner and Brother, Ltd., Sheffield, will be on view, and Mr. Cherry Downes will exhibit in Pavilion No. 12 the electric hooters, etc., of Clear Hooters, Ltd., 'Birmingham. In Pavilion No. 16 Mr. Ernest D. Kiley will show Ignex fire extinguishers made by Minimax, Ltd., London. Lock-nuts made by Vislok, Ltd., London, will be shown in Pavilion No. 16, whilst those of British Dardelet Threadlock, Ltd., London, will be shown by Percy Grant and Co., Ltd. In Pavilion No. 6 will be wheels, etc., by Joseph Sankey and Sons, Ltd., of Wellington.
