Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Keywords :

• A director of a Turkish-run UK haulage company has been banned from holding an Operator's Licence by South Eastern Traffic Commissioner Michael Turner.

Servet Yaman, director of London-based Yaman (UK), failed to turn up at the public inquiry where it was heard that he had not carried out preventative maintenance inspections on his two vehicles and was unaware of tacho regulations.

When the company's twovehicle/two-trailer licence was granted in January 1998 Yaman promised to undertake sixweekly maintenance inspections. But Burwell Motors, which was meant to make the inspections, said that none had taken place.

Turner says the disqualification is indefinite.
