WESSEX PETROLEUM has bought a highly manoeuvrable tanker from Reynolds Boughton (Devon) to make deliveries on the Isle of Wight.

A four-compartment tank, designed for use with the short wheelbase 6x4 Bedford TM 2600 chassis, is capable of carrying 18,000 litres (3,960 gal) of kerosene or petrol.

An overall length of 8.3m (271t 4in) and width of 2.5m (8ft 2in), provides the manoeuvrability re quired to negotiate some of the Island's narrow roads and farm tracks.

The vehicle joins a fleet of four other tankers on the Island, servicing Esso filling stations, large commercial users and the local agricultural community.
