LEYLAND MOTORS LTD. is to acquire a substantial holding in the Ford and Slater Group, which , on January I will take over the Leyland depots at Nottingham and Lincoln. Leyland will have board representation and its staff and large spares holdings at these two depots will be transferred to the new organization.

Purpose of the acquisition is to proMote jointly a long-term development plan and allow for further expansion to meet growing demands for services in the East Midlands. The Nottingham depot will become Ford and Slater (Notts) Ltd. and the Lincoln depot Ford and Slater (Lincoln) Ltd.
