THE FREIGHT Transport Association is asking for an amendment to the Health and Safety Executive proposals on the notification of accidents.

FTA says that the recording of road accidents under the proposals would create an unnecessary duplication of paperwork because there is usually a documented record of accidents on the roads for insurance purposes and to help in prosecutions.
