• Brigade Electronics is busy promoting a reversing alarm called bbs-tek.
When reversing, it fires off a burst of noise on a broad band of several different frequencies rather than one, which makes it easier for the hearer to identify where the noise is coming from. At 5dB(A) lower than the emissions of conventional bleepers, the sound isn't strident and dissipates rapidly, minimising the annoyance caused by noise pollution.
The alarms cost between £60 and £180.
