NOW that the Chancellor of the Exchequer has cut purchase tax on private cars at enormous expense, could he legitimately claim that it was impossible to relieve,the passenger transport industry of the burden of fuel tax, asked Mr. Raymond Birch, company chairman at thG Diamond Jubilee Lunch of the Yorkshire Traction Co.
