A TOTAL of 375 A.E.C. Regent In. Mark II chassis has recently been ordered by London Transport; 4,740 have been ordered since the wa,r. In addition, 50 underfloor-engined Regal Mark IV chassis have been called for, making 715 ordered in the past few months.

St. Helens Transport Department has placed a contract for 25 Regent Mark HI chassis to be fitted with London Transport RT-type bodies. When these vehicles are delivered, St. Helens will have 40 London-type A.E.C. buses in service, as well as a large number of other A.E.C. models. • Seventy-two A.E.C. Mammoth Major • eight-wheeled chassis have been ordered by the Pad Haulage Executive.

HALF-DECKERS FROM NORWICH cONTROL of the Crellin-Duplex patents, covering the half-deck type of vehicle, have now passed to Mann Egerton and Co., Ltd., Norwich, which recently completed the first coach of this type, based on a Foden chassis. Previously, half-deck vehicles were being produced by Lines Trailer Co., Ltd., Scunthorpe, the premises and plant of which were sold early in October.

It is believed that Mann Egerton, as the sole licensee of the patents, plans to produce these vehicles in quantity.

POPULAR T.R.T.A, EVENT

THE annual, dinner and dance of the Traders Road Transport Association was held in London, last week. Col. A. Jerrett, Minst.T., presided. It was a purely social evening, with no speeches beyond a welcome by the president, and was even better attended than last year.
