Firth, is retiring.

Mr. Wilfrid Andrews has been re-elected chairman of the Royal Automobile Club for the sixteenth successive year. Squadron-Leader John Crampton was elected a vice-chairman in succession to Lord Waleran.

Mr. J. V. B. Cressweli, technical service representative, Blundell, Spence and Co.. Ltd. (Industrial Division), is now on a sales promotion tour of the West Indies. During his month's visit he will give a series of lecturedemonstrations, Executive staff of the head office and Willesden factory and other business associates of the Triplex Safety Glass Co., Ltd., gave a dinner in London recently in honour of Sir Graham Cunningham, who shortly retires from the Triplex chairmanship.

Mr. S. T. Alton has been appointed transport, warehouse and dispatch manager, radio and television divisions, of the Thorn Electrical Industries Group. He was formerly transport manager, Ultra Radio and Television, Ltd., until their acquisition by the Thorn Group.

Mr. J. B. C. Smith has been appointed service manager of the Disc Brake Division of the Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd., at Foleshill, Coventry. He will be responsible for the general servicing and supply of brakes and spares both at home and overseas. For many years, Mr. Smith was liaison manager to the Sales and Service Board of Lucas, and a company director in the retail motor trade.

Mr. Ronald Spears has been appointed sales representative for the London Area for Renault, Ltd. He was formerly representative for the West Midlands and Wales which has been taken over by Mr. Denis Huckvale who was previously responsible for the East Midlands. Mr. 'Michael Smith becomes sales representative for the East Midlands.

Obituary

We record with deep regret the death of Mr. -Walter Bonallack, former chairman of Bonallack and Sons. Ltd., the commercial vehicle body builders, at the age of 90. He was a pioneer of the modern commercial vehicle building industry. The grandson of Jacob Bonallack, the company's founder, he was known affectionately to his employees and to many of his business friends as "Mr. Walter." His son, Mr. Basil G. Bonallack, is the company's present deputy. chairman.
