• The Royal Mail has ordered 23 new triaxle semi-trailers fitted with SAF axles and air suspension.

This is the second order from the Royal Mail for the German axle equipment manufacturer, following trials last year with nine tandem-axle trailers, also fitted with SAF axles and air suspension. Trailer manufacturer Tidd Trailers has built both batches for RM.

Running gear for the triaxles consists of RS 9042 lightweight axles with AR 414 air-suspension units.

The centre axle is fitted with in-hub ABS. Total weight for the triaxle system is around 1,400kg,
