• Avonmouth-based PTP Aerial Platforms has bought a stretched Seddon Atkinson 311 six-wheeler converted by SA Trucks (Bristol) and fitted with a 31m hydraulic platform.
It will be used on construction sites and for aerial shots by television crews. The six-wheel configuration is designed to offer off-road traction and the chassis was extended to 6.1m to avoid any overloading problems.
As a "tower wagon" the 311 attracts only £130 annual vehicle excise duty.
