AMPLE off-street lorry parking space is available in the London borough of Southwark, reports the borough council.
The Rolls Road park off the Old Kent Road near the Bricklayers Arms is seriously under-utilised, even though it provides easy and direct access to Surrey Docks.
The 60-70 vehicle site is guarded by ex-servicemen security wardens of the Royal British Legion Attendants Company.
Tariffs are £1.00 for rigids and £1.50 for antics up to 15 hours and £1.50 and £2.00 respectively up to 24 hours. The council is considering introducing contract parking rates at the Rolls Road site.
