Reading wants a 2d. minimum fare, and Id. to be added to the V.,.d.-Cd. rates, alihough some of the 4A. fares would be increased to 6d: and some 6d. fares to 7d. The undertaking also proposes to replace -workers' returns by a cheap early-morning single rate, and to raise children's and scholars' fares.

Applying successfully for their second fare increase in eight months, Messrs. Green Bus Service, Rugeley, told the West Midland Licensing Authority, at Birmingham, last week, that the wage award might necessitate a further application in the near future. The increases, which will come into effect on Monday, affect miners' and other workers' special rates,
